1954-01-01 USA Port Canaveral Post Office First Day Cancellation

The "Port Canaveral" post office operated from 1954 to 1962. The name was changed from "Artesia" to "Port Canaveral" on January 1, 1954. In the subsequent years, numerous space-related event covers from the early U.S. space program were canceled at this post office.
