1975-05-13 USA ASTP Control Centers Joint Simulation

On May 13, 1975, a joint simulation for the Apollo–Soyuz Test Project was conducted between mission control teams in Houston and Moscow. Flight controllers and crew members practiced communication, docking, rendezvous, and crew transfer procedures using fully staffed control centers. The simulation helped prepare for the historic July 1975 mission, when an Apollo spacecraft docked with a Soviet Soyuz spacecraft in orbit.
